Sickos

I really have to get better at posting these entries on the date that I write them, before they become outdated! This one was written on 1/13/10:

Poor Brendan and Jamie. Jamie got the cold first, and then on Saturday Brendo had it, but SO much worse! Jamie's been sick 3 or 4 times now, but this is Brendo's first. B's fever spiked to 104 on Saturday night which scared the hell out of me, plus he was sluggish and moaning. After that he was back and forth, fever up and down, moaning then laughing and playing. But he seems just about better now so everyone should be healthy by the weekend as we are going to visit Grandma and Grandpa in NY!
The boys are changing so rapidly. Brendan is pulling up to stand all the time now and cruising along our sectional. We put the "Superyard" - basically a big open cage - in our kitchen so that they can be in that room with us without getting into trouble - and Brendan now pulls himself up to stand and then pushes the yard along the floor, essentially walking - with the support of the yard of course. The other day he even moved himself over to one of our kitchen cabinets and opened the top drawer! Of course he couldn't get anything out of it since it was above his head. Meanwhile, Jamie gets into a lot less trouble, he's not as intent on grabbing and touching everything the way Brendan is, he's pretty content with playing with his toys - when Brendan isn't stealing them from him, that is. Jamie has also been standing but not quite as much, although he's stepped it up a bit - in the last couple of days he has learned to stand at our sectional and in his crib. And he's finally figured out how to get up the one step into our kitchen!
The boys "talk" a lot too, it is simply adorable. Jamie especially makes a lot of different babbling noises, while Brendan tends to stick with his "aaaahs" (imagine him shouting those, so funny) and "babababa", either saying that softly or loudly. They really are a riot. No real words yet, but that will be very cool to hear. They're starting to imitate more now - sometomes they'll clap when we clap, or say "babababa" in response to our "babababa". The other day I was playfully smacking the side of Jamie's thigh while I was changing him into his PJ's and he slapped his thigh too!

Today is their 9 month appointment, they haven't had one in three months so I'm interested in learning their progress. Seems to me they've been doing well though. Hopefully they won't mind their shots too much!
